Tips For Your Visit
- Best Time to visit. To avoid the heat of the day and miss the larger crowds the best time to visit is in the early morning. Late afternoon is another great time to go for a better chance to see wildlife. Walking paths open from 7am to 6pm each day. A gold coin donation is requested (donation box just inside the Centre’s doors). And the centre opens at 9:30am.
- What to Pack. Even though most of the path is either gravel and boardwalk there are some steps along the way so comfy shoes are best, bug spray will come in handy especially if it’s rained in the area. And of course sun protection and water.
- Distance & Difficulty. The paths are considered easy and suitable for young families, features boardwalk, bridges, viewing platforms, seats and the walk is a little over 2km.
We’ve done this walk multiple times and every time we have experienced and seen different wildlife and plant growth. This Reserve offers the perfect mix of peace and excitement. So, lace up your shoes, grab your camera, and get ready to soak in the magic of Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve and remember, the world is yours to roam free!😊
