We’ve been to London a few times now and, every time we go, I always plan on visiting a new bakery. I’m just a sucker for a sweet mouth-watering baked good, from classic pastries to innovative treats, there’s something to satisfy every sweet tooth. So, grab a cup of coffee and let’s dive into my flavoursome list of London bakeries to visit.
- My top spot goes to Crumbs & Doilies. It’s a small bakery located in Soho district, that offers more then just cupcakes – it has brownies, cookies and all sorts of cakes too. When we visited I tried a Biscoff Cupcake and a Caramel Cornflake Brownie, the brownie was to die for. You know I love the bakery when I have to purchase their baking book!
- Second bakery you can’t miss is Peggy Porschen. A trip to Peggy Porschen is like stepping into a fairytale. This has to be one of the prettiest bakeries in Belgravia. It’s known for its stunning cakes and picture-perfect cupcakes. Not only do they look gorgeous, they taste delicious. Again, I picked up a copy of her baking book.
- Cutter & Squidge is another top bakery to visit in Soho, this bakery was founded by sisters and their signature dish “Biskies” which is a hybrid of a cake and cookie with different fillings. I couldn’t stop at just 2 choices, so I got 4 treats. They were amazing, and so glad I got more for the road.

- If your looking for something a little more out there, and a cafe that is the perfect place to get “That Shot” for Instagram, then EL&N London is the place to go. Known for its cute photogenic décor, and specialty coffees this place is the perfect spot for a girls’ catch up.

- Looking for that perfect hand decorated iced cookie? Then Biscuiteers is the place to go. Their intricate cookies look so good you don’t want to break them. They also offer School of Icing where you can take a class and learn all the techniques to ice the perfect cookie.
- If you’re after more American style bakery then look no further than The Hummingbird Bakery. They have amazing rich flavoured cakes and cupcakes. They also have a great selection of pies to choose from. I decided to pick up a nice little selection of cupcakes to take back home with me.
- Sometimes when your looking for that special treat that is just a little more indulgent for both the waistline and wallet, you can’t pass Harrods Bake Hall. I treated myself to one of the best coffees and most delicious Cinnamon Croissants ever! It was on the pricey side but that’s why its a special treat. A bonus, depending on the time, you can see the bakers at work.

- Gail’s Bakery, is great coffee and also a great selection of sweet and savoury options. It’s a great spot if you have people in your group that don’t have a sweet tooth and prefer something a little healthier as well. They have multiple locations around London.
- If you’re a doughnut lover then you can’t go wrong with Doughnut Time. You can find them almost everywhere in London, and I tend to get one every time.
- Other great bakeries to visit are Primrose Bakery, L’opera Cafe (I tried Turkish coffee for the first time here), and Dominique Ansel (Now Closed).
Each of these spots provides a unique experience, making it a joy to explore the city one bite at a time. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, these bakeries are sure to add a touch of sweetness to your London adventure. Enjoy your bakery journey! 🍰✨
